The Monett Area YMCA Healthy Kids Day is set to take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at South Park in Monett.
The event will feature YMCA inflatables, a one-mile fun run, face-painting, an obstacle course, volleyball, soccer and healthy snacks for kids. The first 100 kids to participate will be given a free T-shirt.
The goal of this event is to encourage youth to keeping their minds and bodies active during the summer months.
"Here at the YMCA, we promote stong kids, strong lives and strong communities," said Stacy McKenzie, wellness, arts and humanities director at the Monett Area YMCA.
The YMCA also has a Healthy Kids idea-a-day page on Facebook, providing a daily challenge to area youth and their families.
Participating agencies include the Monett Police Department, the Monett Fire Department, Cox Monett Hospital and the Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District. Two area churches will also have information booths set up at the site.
The event is free to area youth.
