Open enrollment for summer and fall 2012 at Crowder College begins on Monday, April 30. Schedules are available at the Southwest Area Career Center or at 303 E. Cleveland in Monett. An open house will be held at the Colonial Village Apartment complex, located on West Pine Street in Monett, at 10 a.m. on April 26. The 20-unit family complex has been fully renovated through a multi-family preservation and revitalization loan. United States Department of Agriculture's Rural Development and Hamilton Properties representatives will be available for questions.

St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City will hold its second annual spaghetti dinner, art show and silent auction from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at the school gymnasium. The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are free. Student's art work will be displayed in the gymnasium, and the silent auction will end at 8 p.m.

Southern Mix Band will be the entertainment at the V.F.W. Post #4207 at 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 28. Cover charge is $5. The post is located west of Monett on Highway 60.

Basics of Drawing 101 will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at the Mt. Vernon Branch Library, located at 206 W. Water St. Lou Faucett will be the teacher, and materials will be provided. The Exeter city-wide yard sale will be held on April 28. The annual city-wide cleanup will be held on May 1. Those with appliances and televisions can call the city at 417-835-2823 to arrange for pickup.

Monett Jaycees will host a co-ed softball tournament beginning at noon on April 28 at the Monett North Park ball fields. Proceeds will benefit the Monett Relay for Life. For more information, call Randi Willhite at 417-574-6933.

The Aurora Harvest Food Pantry is holding its second annual Ride for Hunger to benefit those in need. The event will be held on April 28 at Harvest Church, located at 21272 Farm Road 1200 in Aurora. All vehicles are invited to participate. Sign-up begins at 9:30 a.m., and the ride starts at 11 a.m. The cost per person or rider is $10 or 10 nonperishable items.
