Loren C. Strouse, age 81, of Monett, Mo., passed away suddenly on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Cox-Monett Hospital. Loren was born on Aug. 21, 1930, in Hutchison, Kan., the son of the late John and Rosemond (Hewes) Strouse.

Loren graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Ark. He worked for Masters & Jackson Construction and later for Journagan Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Loren was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monett, an avid golfer and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Loren married Norma Moore on Aug.17, 1957, in Monett, Mo. They were blessed with over 54 years together. To this union, three children were born.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the home; one son, Mike Strouse, of Monett, Mo.; two daughters, Debbie Bass and husband, David, of Pierce City, Mo. and Diana Poage, of Pierce City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Strouse, of Springfield, Mo.

Graveside services for Mr. Strouse will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett with Dr. Bill Cox officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Buchanan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions have been requested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
