Brianna Petersen, a 2011 Monett High School graduate, was recently honored as one of the top 14 freshmen at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Petersen was chosen for the award based on her work on antibacterial dental composites in the biological engineering laboratory. She is the chairwoman of Residence Halls Association, a member of the pre-dental club and a chancellors leadership scholar. Peter-sen and 13 other freshmen were recognized out of 6,000 freshmen for accomp-lishments and contributions. Petersen is the daughter of Todd and Melanie Hills, of Monett.
