Purdy's Cameron Terry threw a no-hitter as the Eagles cruised to a 12-0 victory over Miller in Tuesday night baseball action.

"Cameron gave us really good innings tonight," said Purdy head coach Joshua Hughes. "He kept throwing strikes and the defense played well behind him."

Terry pitched five innings, walked four and struck out seven batters with 84 pitches.

After going down in order in the first inning, Purdy exploded for eight runs in the second inning.

Terry opened the second inning with a double. Drew Williams then reached on an error. Keevin Walker singled to score Terry. Alex Mareth singled to score Williams. Austin Hancock drew a walk to load the bases. An error on a ball hit by Tyler Scott allowed Walker to score, and a triple by Reese Stevenson allowed three more runs to score.

"We just kept putting the ball in play and forcing Miller to get us out," said Hughes. "We faced a good pitcher tonight, and the boys really responded well."

The Eagles (10-4) tacked on four more runs in the third to enact the mercy rule at the conclusion of the top of the fifth inning.

Purdy travels to East Newton on Friday. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
