Dr. Luis C--rdoba will present a workshop entitled, "Do You Know Where Your Child Is?" The workshop is based on Dr. C--rdoba's 30 years of experience working with members of Latino gangs.
The event will be presented in English from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at the Monett Middle School auditorium located at 710 Ninth St.
The workshop will provide information on how to: identify youth involved in Latino gangs; spot gang activity in the neighborhood, community and school; recognize the signs of drug and alcohol use and whether your child is selling or using drugs.
Dr. C--rdoba currently serves on the superintendent's senior cabinet as the executive director of student intervention programs for the Kansas City School District. He is a committee member of the United States Attorney Western District of Missouri, Gang Assessment Task Force.
Dr. C--rdoba also volunteers his time teaching race relations at cadet classes for the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. He is an internationally certified and state-licensed substance abuse counselor, and because of his experience, he has been invited to speak at over 300 national presentations.

The event in Monett will offer free childcare and prizes during the session. The workshop is sponsored by the Asociaci--n Latino "Imagen."
