Sylvia was born on May 1, 1916 to Floyd Noble McIntosh and Anna Maude Albright McIntosh in Purdy, Mo.

After graduation, she taught school at Rogersville for three years. She returned to college and graduated with a major in music from Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in 1940 and taught at other schools around Purdy before moving to California to marry her sweetheart, Walter S. Hultgren on March 5, 1941. Walter passed in 1987.
Walter and Sylvia lived in California, Oklahoma, Utah, Louisiana, Missouri, Michigan, and again in Utah, but finally retired in Monett, Mo.
|Sylvia made friends easily wherever she lived, and loved to keep in contact with her friends and family in Monett as well as around the country. She took part in many church and other outside activities in Monett.||Sylvia moved to Mesa, Ariz. in 2006 where she could live close to her son, Howard and daughter-in-law, Elaine. She loved to play cards, work crossword and picture puzzles and was an avid reader. She also loved to travel, and after Walter passed, she took numerous bus trips around this beautiful country of ours.|
