The Purdy Chapter of Family, Community and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) was involved in the Missouri FCCLA Legislative Shadowing project at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. Pictured above, from left, are: Representative Sara Lampe, Emily Shaw, of Golden City FCCLA and Susan Vang, of Purdy FCCLA in the Missouri House of Representative chamber. Vang spent the day shadowing Lampe, District 138, of Springfield. Pictured below, from left, are: Representative David Sater and McKenzie England, Purdy FCCLA. England shadowed Sater, District 68, Cassville. The two Purdy FCCLA members were chosen among 50 FCCLA members statewide to learn more about state government, the political process and the impact on citizens. The Purdy FCCLA members were given a private tour of the upper levels of the state capitol by Cindy Schallert Kadlec, former Purdy Future Homemakers of America (FHA) member and Myra McGee, FCCLA chapter advisor, accompanied the students to Jefferson City.
