Five days after suffering a heartbreaking loss to state-ranked Conway, the Purdy Eagles baseball team bounced back with a 4-3 Ozark 7 Conference victory over Southwest on Monday.

"We are struggling a little bit offensively," said Purdy coach Joshua Hughes. "We have faced some tough pitching. Tonight, we made the most of our opportunities at the plate."

Purdy scored a single run in the first, third, fifth and sixth innings. The Trojans scored a run in the third and two runs in the fourth inning.

Reese Stevenson earned the victory on the mound for the Eagles. Stevenson threw seven innings, allowed four hits and three earned runs and struck out 13.

Cody Hall had two RBI for Purdy. Keevin Walker went two for three with a pair of singles, and Cameron Terry added a double.

Purdy improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in Ozarks 7 Conference play.
