The Purdy Eagles baseball team improved to 7-1 on Monday night with a double-header sweep of College Heights.

"The boys continue to play at a high level," said Purdy coach Joshua Hughes. "We played our fourth game of the season without committing an error. Any time you play well on defense and don't beat yourself you have a chance to win."

In the first game, Cameron Terry pitched five innings in the mercy rule shortened game as the Eagles won 10-0.

Terry (2-0) struck out seven and allowed three hits and no walks.

Reese Stevenson and Tyler Scott collected two hits apiece, and Cody Hall added a RBI triple.

In the night cap of the twin bill, the Eagles prevailed 14-1.

Alex Mareth (1-0) earned the victory, allowing one earned run on two hits in four innings of work while striking out six.

Hall provided power for Purdy, going three for four with two triples and a inside the park home run and five RBI. Hall hit the ball to right center in the gap, and with a huge outfield, Hall was able to make it around the bases. He added five RBI to his stats also. Stevenson and Terry collected two hits each, and Keevin Walker added two RBI.

The Eagles travel to Springfield Thursday for a neutral site contest at Evangel University against Conway. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
