Pierce City High School will host the second annual Doug Weatherly Scholarship Fun Run on Saturday, April 21. The fundraising event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. The run is open to the public and will start and finish near the football field in Pierce City. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runner. Participants can preregister by April 13 for $15 or $20 on the day of the race. There is also a family rate of $30 for a family of four and $5 for each additional child. The cost of the run includes a T-shirt and will only be available to those who preregister. All proceeds will benefit Doug Weatherly Scholarship/Memorial Fund. For more information, to volunteer or to register for the race, contact Jasumback at 476-2255 or jjasumback@pcschools.net.

The Monett Water Thrashers are looking for swimmers ages 5 to 18. Those interested need to be strong swimmers, be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted, and to be able to pass the red-zone swim test in the deep end of the pool. The Arc of the Ozarks will host its ninth annual golf tournament on May 4 at the Windmill Golf Course. Proceeds will go to the Arc fund managed by the Monett Community Foundation. Golfers are needed and tournament sponsors are also being sought. The tournament is open to all area golf enthusiasts. For more information about the tournament or to register, call 354-0071.
