Victoria Louise Stevens, 53, of Monett, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo. She was born on Feb. 12, 1959 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia Jean (Martin) Smith.
She was a secretary and an artist. She was a member of the Lac Du Flambeau of Ojibwe Tribe and later adopted by the Kickapoo Tribe.
Victoria is survived by fiancÚ: Gary Stanford; two sons: Brandon Stevens and Trenton Goodpasture, both of Monett; three daughter: Spirit Stevens and Ciarra Stevens, both of Monett, and Shannon Portis, of Springfield; three brothers: George Laronge and Dennis Smith, both of Milwaukee, Wis., and Hank Winsea, of Monett; four sisters: Brenda Laronge and Lisa Di Salvlo both of Milwaukee, Wis.; Pamela Smith, LCO Reservation and Evelyn Winsea, of Monett; three grandchildren and father of her children, Jack Goodpasture.
She was preceded in death by both her parents: Richard and Virginia Smith and her adopted parents: Luther and Peggy Winsea.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Mo. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kelly Johnson officiating. Burial will follow services at Crane Cemetery in Crane, Mo.
