The Chapel of Grace Church, in Monett, will host the mid-week Lenten service at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. A lunch will be served following the service.

The VFW Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary will host a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the Post, located west of Monett on Highway 60. The menu will include salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and salads. The cost of the meal is $6 and includes dessert, coffee or tea.

A storm spotter and weather awareness education class will be presented by the National Weather Service at 6:30 p.m. on April 5 at The MARC, located at 822 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd. in Mt. Vernon. The public is invited, and admission is free.

OACAC Head Start is accepting enrollment applications for its program beginning in September. Families who meet income guidelines and whose children will be age 3 or 4 before Aug. 1 are eligible to apply. For more information, call 235-3911 or 235-8779.

Friday night mixed golf league will begin league play on Friday, April 6. Tee-off time is 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. All members and players interested in playing in the league are invited to join. For more information, call 235-5331.

The Monett Water Thrashers are looking for swimmers ages 5 to 18. Those interested need to be strong swimmers, be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted and be able to pass the red-zone swim test in the deep end of the pool. The Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce and the Neosho Rotary Club will host the 51st annual Neosho Dogwood Tour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. Tour maps and Dogwood information will be available at the Rotary tent at the Neosho High School. Signs will be posted along the route for the event.
