The VFW Post #4207 Ladies Auxiliary will host a luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the Post, located west of Monett on Highway 60. The menu will include salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and salads. The cost of the meal is $6 and includes dessert, coffee or tea.

The Monett Kiwanis Club will meet at noon on Tuesday, April 3 at Happy House Restaurant in Monett. Brian Hunter, with Jack Henry and Associates, will be the speaker. He will discuss the effects of the economy on businesses' and corporations' use of airplanes.

The Monett Senior Center will hold a bake sale fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 6 at Walmart in Monett.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has issued a code yellow alert for O negative blood. A blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 at the Mt. Vernon High School, located at 400 W. Highway 174.

The second annual Monett Strawberry Festival will be held on June 1 and June 2 on Broadway. Applications are now being accepted for crafts, produce growers, local manufacturers and non-profit information booths. For more information, visit www.monettstrawberryfestival.com or call 417-772-7092.

The Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce and the Neosho Rotary Club will host the 51st annual Neosho Dogwood Tour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 1. Tour maps and Dogwood information will be available at the Rotary tent at the Neosho High School. Signs will be posted along the route for the event. The Monett Senior Center will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, April 2. The event is an Easter bonnet dance and those attending are asked to wear a hat for prizes. The entertainment will be provided by The Funtimers Band and admission is $3. Those attending are asked to bring a potluck dish or finger food. The center is located at 405 Dairy St.

The Aurora United Methodist Men will hold the annual pancake day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at the Aurora United Methodist Church, located at 1211 Carnation Dr. The menu includes pancakes, sausage or bacon, coffee and milk. Tickets can be purchased early at the church for $3.50 or at the door for $4.

The Southwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District N will meet at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10 at Alice Irene's Restaurant in Marionville. The meeting is open to the public.

The Pierce City Farmers' Market will open its second season on the first Saturday in May. The market is located at the intersection of Highways 37 and 97 at Locust Street. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through September. Applications for sellers are available at Bookmarks, located at 100 W.
