The Monett Community Church, located across from Ramey's, will host the mid-week Lenten service at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28. Rev. Dr. John Niper, interim pastor of the Monett First Presbyterian Church, will be preaching. A lunch will be served following the service. Host pastor is Rev. Dr. Chad Bennett.
The Monett High School band members will present contest pieces for solos and ensembles at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27 at Mocha Jo's, located at 404 E. Broadway, in downtown Monett.

A fish fry fundraiser will be held at the Pierce City Senior Center at noon on Tuesday, March 30. The cost for adults age 55 and over is $3.50 and under 55 is $4.50. Carry-out is $4.50.
The Pierce City Farmers' Market will open for its second season the first Saturday in May. The market is located at the intersection of Highways 37 and 97 at Locust Street. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through September. Applications for sellers are available at Bookmarks, 100 W. Commercial St., Pierce City and at Pierce City City Hall. The Monett Senior Center dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, April 2 at the center, located at 405 Dairy St. The theme will be Easter bonnet dance. Those attending are asked to wear an Easter bonnet or a favorite hat. There will be prizes for the best ladies' and gentlemen's hats. The entertainment will be by The Funtimers Band and admission is $3. Potluck dishes or finger foods are welcome.
St. Mary's Home and School fish fry will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 30 in the St. Mary's cafeteria. The cost for adults is $7; children ages 7 to 12 is $3 and age 6 and under is free. Proceeds will go toward St. Mary's Home and School.
Absentee voting for the April 3 general municipal election will begin on Saturday, March 31 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Barry County Clerk's office in Cassville according to Barry County Clerk, Gary Youngblood. A storm spotter and weather awareness education class will be presented by National Weather Service (NOAA) at 6:30 p.m. on April 5 at The MARC, 822 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd. in Mt. Vernon. The public is invited and admission is free.
