St. Mary's students create musical instruments

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

First and second grade students at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pierce City recently completed a special project on a science chapter entitled "Sound Energy." Each student designed and made a musical instrument out of materials found in their homes. The students had to tell what the instruments were called, how they were made and then had to demonstrate how to play them. The classroom band played their instruments as they sang some of their favorite songs. Students participating in the band are pictured above. In the front row, from left, are: Atley Kleinman, Grady Ehrhardt, Andrew Loyd, Macy Fenske, Karleigh Reber, Claudia Crowell, Trinity Witt, Hailey Gripka and Pete Masri. Back row: Tory Davis, Lindsey Jasumback, Kella Loyd, Kendra Abramovitz, Hayden Kramer, Garrett Gettler, Riley Gripka, Ava Golubski, Levi Cooper, Noah Willoughby and Trey Davis.
