Addy Roller scored 41 of the Lady Eagles' 47 points, but it wasn't enough as Purdy ends the season 24-6.
"Marionville controlled the boards tonight," said Purdy coach Grant Young. "You have to tip your cap to the game plan that coach (Ted) Young had. When we need a break, a shot or a stop we couldn't get one."
"The officials kind of let us play," said Young. "We were expecting to get some calls that we didn't get when we were taking it to the basket there in the second quarter where we drew contact. We were in the bonus the whole second quarter, and we just couldn't get to the line."
The Lady Eagles emerged from the halftime locker room focused and driven. A deep trey by Roller capped an 11-2 run to open the second half and cut the Lady Comet's advantage to 2 points at 30-28 with 3:29 left in the period, forcing Marionville to call a timeout.
In the fourth period, the Lady Comets pounded the ball into the paint and forced the Lady Eagles to take hurried shots. Roller scored 16 of her 41 points in the final eight minutes, including a trey at the final buzzer.
Marionville outrebounded the Lady Eagles 26 to 18 and held a 14 to 4 edge in second-chance points. Purdy finished the game eight of 15 at the free throw line.
Scoring for Marionville were: Young, 20; Dishman, 14; Whitney Wright, 10; Hicks, 6; Aubrey Brown, 3; and Brooke Nelson, 2.
Scoring for Purdy were: Roller, 41; Mattie White, 4; and Rachel Neill, 2.
