Reba Ellen Baum, 93, of Monett, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Lacoba Nursing Center in Monett. She was born on June 6, 1918 in Harper, Kan., the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Huddlestone. She was married to M.C. "Bob" Baum and they spent 71 years in a loving and devoted marriage that began on Sept. 1, 1940 in El Dorado, Kan.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett, loved to golf and play bridge. Throughout her life in Monett Reba was very involved in community organizations and projects including the establishment of Crosslines. She was an active member of the Republican Women's Group, worked at dozens of elections as a vote taker, and worked with Loaves and Fishes for over 30 years.
Reba is survived by husband, Bob; one son: James Baum, Springfield; two daughters: Paula Kirspel, Ft. Worth, Texas; and Susan Carson, husband Mike, Homewood, Ala.; two grandchildren: Laura Kirspel, Ft. Worth, Texas and Rob Kirspel, Ft. Worth, Texas; and one great-grandchild: Wren Kirspel.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Elmer and Grace, two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Monett, Mo., with Rev. Charlene Dart officiating.
