Edith L. Vinson, age 83, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Monett, Mo., passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. following a short illness.
|Edith was born on April 16, 1928 in Monett, daughter of the late John McDunner and Ruby (Blankenship) McDunner. She was a graduate of Monett High School and had worked as a bank teller at the First National Bank in Monett until her retirement.|
Edith was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Monett before moving to Broken Arrow.
|On Aug. 11, 1946 in Pittsburg, Kan., Edith McDunner and Charles E. Vinson, Jr. were united in marriage. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Morris McDunner; and three sisters, Gretchen Covel, Lucille Planchon and Helen Wilks.||Edith is survived by one son: John Vinson and his wife, Linda, of Broken Arrow; three grandchildren: Jana Spencer and her husband, Kameron; Kimberly Fairchild and her husband, Jeremy; and Chris Vinson and fiancée, Kristie Holman; four great-grandchildren: Carson Spencer, Kylan Fairchild, Taryn Fairchild and Ryanne Spencer.|
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Reverend Charlene Dart will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Contributions can be made to Christ United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
