   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher with
a few instances 2.00 higher and slaughter bulls sold 1.00-3.00 lower with the
greatest decline on high-dressing bulls. Several dispersals provided some top
quality bred cows and cow/calf pairs, and there is an ever increasing demand for
those good quality take-home cows. Supply was moderate and demand very good for
slaughter classes.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd and
3rd stage 1090-1365 lbs, better quality from dispersals 1450.00-1700.00, bal-
ance sold mostly as singles 1100.00-1350.00, several pkgs. 1 1/2 yr 3rd stage
1100-1225 lb black and black white-face 1900.00, 1st stage 2-5 yrs 1090-1225

as singles w/newborn calves 1300.00-1450.00; broken mouth to aged 1200-1225
lb cows w/babies to 300 lb calves and a few rebred 1325.00-1400.00. Medium 1-2
2-5 yrs 1000-1050 lb cows w/newborn to 280 lb calves 1250.00-1350.00.
