"I am filing for the 158th District because as a small business owner, I know what it's like to fight the burden of government regulations while trying to create jobs," said Bennett. "Missouri government needs to get out of the way of job creators while working to improve the education of our children.
"Missourians want better for our state, and I am dedicated to creating an environment where we can create jobs more easily while educating our children to their fullest potential," added Bennett.
Bennett and his wife of 31 years, Valerie, have two children and a grandchild on the way. The couple have started and owned several small businesses, including Patriot Transportation, Bennett Truck Repair, Affordable Exteriors and Bennett Seamless Guttering.
|As a fifth generation Barry Countian, Bennett has strong ties to the district he hopes to serve. He has been very involved in the community and has served on numerous boards and groups, including the Barry Lawrence Ambulance District, the Purdy School Board and the Purdy Volunteer Fire Department as chairman.|
Over the past year, Bennett has been campaigning across the district, talking to voters about the issues that affect them and their families.
"I believe when you run for office you have to talk to as many people as you can in order to represent them properly," said Bennett. "I plan on going door to door across the district to find out what voters are saying."
Friends For Bennett is the committee formed to support Bennett's election campaign. John Duncan serves as treasurer of that group.
