George Cobb

George Wheeler Cobb, age 91, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at the Missouri Veteran's Home, in Mt. Vernon, Mo. He was born on July 12, 1920, in Arlington, Texas, to George Napolian Cobb and Della Mae (Lady) Cobb.

Mr. Cobb lived in Fairview, Mo., for many years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 - 1945, during WWII. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He married Eva Gladys (Fulton) on Nov. 6, 1945, in Mellaine, Texas and she preceded him in death.

He is survived by two brothers: Dennis Cobb, of Marshfield, Mo. and Kenneth Cobb, of Peculiar, Mo.; a sister: Louise Warnier, of Axtell, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service, with full military honors, was held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, at Miller Memorial Cemetery, Miller, Mo.
