The Wheaton Historical Society and Wheaton Depot Museum held their sixth annual Sweetheart Dinner on Feb. 11 at the Wheaton School Technology Center. Among the guests were Cherry and Ann Warren, of Exeter, and Doug and Bernadine Hobson, of Monett, pictured above. The dinner was a sellout, and the crowd was treated to a special evening. The round tables draped with beautiful red table cloths were each decorated by women of the society who furnished their own fine china and silver. Table decorators included: Shelia Young; Jo Anne Jump and Sue Wilkins; Nola McMillen and Edna Haynes; Cindy Halog and Donna Youngblood; Kay Lombard; Vivian and Jim Hight; Jill Paden; Becky Roskob; Barbara Hickman; Betty Lamberson; and Beverly Riddle. Jim Wakefield, of Little Rock, Ark. made a $5,000 donation to the Wheaton Historical Society and Wheaton Depot Museum and designated for the heating and air conditioning fund. Wakefield is a railroad historian and a friend of the Wheaton Depot project.
