The East Newton Lady Patriots spoiled the Monett Lady Cubs' senior night with a 45-26 victory Thursday night.

"For three quarters our defense gave us a chance to win," said Monett coach Derrek Uhl. "We struggled to get anything going offensively. The girls played hard. It just wasn't our night."

Two quick baskets by Allie Krueger cut the Lady Patriots' advantage to 11-10, but Monett could not get any closer. East Newton finished the half with an 8-3 spurt and led 19-13 at intermission.
