A teenage girl had a close call driving home from dance class on Wednesday. According to the Monett Police Department, the teen became lightheaded while driving her Mitshubishi Eclipse west on Highway 60 and drove off the road past Highway 37 at 6:48 p.m.

Her car stopped a short distance from the drop-off into Clear Creek. Monett police and firefighters responded to the scene. The driver was taken to Cox Monett Hospital by Barry-Lawrence Ambulance crews for observation but was not injured.

Officer Don Massingill said responders were able to drive the car back out of the embankment.
