Crews for Insituform, the company that repairs sewers by installing a lining sealing cracks and leaks, is back in Monett this week. The work crew shown above worked behind the Dollar General store. According to Dan Woodring, Insituform foreman, a resin-lined tube is inserted into the sewer main then pumped with steam, causing the lining to seal against the sewer walls. Utilities Superintendent Pete Rauch said Insituform targeted 4,065 linear feet of eight-inch sewer mains and 948 feet of 12-inch mains at a total cost of $131,720.25. All of the lines were identified and prioritized based on visual inspection using the city's sewer camera. [Times Photo by Murray Bishoff]
