Earl T. Telschow, age 81, of Freistatt, passed away at 10:28 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at the Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center in Crane.

Earl was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Mellen, Wis., the son of Elmer Telschow and Mathilda (Nolde) Telschow. Earl was baptized as a child of God as an infant, and he confirmed his faith in God at the age of 14. He graduated from Marengo Community High School in Marengo, Ill.

Earl received his Bachelor of Science in Education at Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Neb. on Jan. 21, 1964. This is also where he met the love of his life, his wife, Anne.

Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member the Freistatt American Legion Post #419, the Freistatt Lion's Club and was very active in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Earl taught at the Trinity Lutheran School for over 25 years, as well as he was the choir director and band director. He loved Jesus and used his God given musical talents to teach children and many others about Jesus' love for us.

On July 8, 1961 in North Tonawanda, N.Y., Earl married Anne Senechal. They were blessed with over 50 years being together. To this union, five children were born. Earl is survived by his wife, Anne, of the Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center, Crane; four sons, Paul Telschow, of San Diego, Calif., Brian Telschow, of Monett, Jonathan Telschow, of McKinney, Texas, and Joel Telschow, of Thiensville, Wis.; one daughter, Kathryn Jeter, of Branson; two sisters, Irene Poppe and husband Rod, of Marengo, Ill. and Louise Rudy, of Freeport, Ill.; five grandchildren, Bailey Telschow, Mark Telschow, Jade Telschow, Luke Jeter and Alec Telschow; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Fred Telschow; and one sister, Jean Ann Telschow.

Funeral services and for Mr. Telschow will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. Rev. Barrett R. Buchmueller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Earl to the Trinity Lutheran School in care of the funeral home.
