It's not every day area residents have the opportunity to see construction by helicopter rather than giant crane, but Saturday morning crowds gathered across Highway 60 from Miracle/Playpower North American Operation to do just that. According to Dan Reed, project manager with Storee Construction, the Strafford company overseeing the installation of ventilation units to the roof of Playpower, using helicopters was the quickest and most efficient way to get the job done. "The big cranes wouldn't reach the far corners of the building," Reed said. "This is exciting. It's an adrenaline rush." It took just over an hour for the helicopter pilot and ground crews to place all 26 units on the roof of the Monett business. "This is the final phase of the ventilation project," Reed said. "It's going to help Playpower employees out tremendously." [Times Photo by Melonie Roberts] [Order this photo]
