It's homecoming week at Pierce City High School

The stage is set for Homecoming Week at Pierce City High School.

The Pierce City Eagles will take on the Lockwood Tigers in basketball action beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Pierce City High School gymnasium.

Basketball homecoming queen candidates include: senior Erica Holland, daughter of Karen and William Holland; senior Kelsey Lawrence, daughter of Stan and Lora Lawrence; and senior Gabrielle Phillips, daughter of Richard Jennings.

Homecoming king candidates are: Nick Boggs, son of Steve and Kris Boggs; Drew Boursheski, son of Kent and Erin Boursheski; and Ian Brottlund, son of Von and Linda Brottlund. All three candidates are seniors.

The 2012 attendants include: freshman Monica Sexton, daughter of Steve and Joanna Sexton; sophomore Christine Younker, daughter of Carl and Judy Younker; and junior Haley Crane, daughter of Randi and James Hughes and Daniel Crane.

The theme of this year's Homecoming Week festivities is Space Jam, and activities include themed spirit days for student participation.

A pep assembly will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in the high school gym. Coronation will take place between the junior varsity and varsity games.

The 2012 cheer squad plans and implements the homecoming activities. Members include: seniors Elizabeth Younker, Amanda Zabala, Alicia George, Kimber VanZandt and Jazmine Parra-Navarro; juniors Tiffany Haase and Kimberly Velten; and freshman Tisha Haase.
