The Eagles dropped to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in Ozark 7 Conference play.
"We got behind early and were taken out of our game plan," said Purdy coach Tommy Egan. "I was proud of the boys. They fought back in the second half. We cut the lead down to two points, but TJ hit some clutch shots."
The Cavaliers led 17-11 after one quarter of play and 29-19 at halftime.
Purdy cut into the Thomas Jefferson advantage, outscoring the Cavaliers 15 to 10 in the third period.
Alex Oserowsky led Thomas Jefferson in scoring with 28 points. Justin Brown added 13 points.
Scoring for Purdy were: Devon Bennett, 17; Cody Hall, 10; Cameron Terry, 8; Drew Williams, 4; Brent Cornman, 3; and Alex Haworth, Glenn Scott and Garen Nelson, 2 each.
The Purdy Eagles doubled up the Exeter Tigers 65-31 Monday night.
"We made some outside shots early, which got us off to a quick start," said Egan. "We did a good job of getting the ball inside against their zone in the second half.
"We were active defensively and were able to get some good things out of our presses," Egan continued. "We were very balanced with our scoring, which we always like to see."
The Eagles led 19-8 at the end of the first quarter and 34-15 at halftime. Purdy outperformed the Tigers 17 to 10 in the third period and 14 to 6 in the final quarter.
Scoring for the Eagles were: Bennett, 12; Haworth. 11; Nelson. 10; Hall, 9; Terry, 7; Scott, 5; Cornman, 4; Josh Antle, Williams and Keevin Walker: 2 apiece; and Austin Hancock, 1.
Purdy travels to Verona next Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
