The Dorcas Ladies Aid met in the fellowship hall of the Trinity Lutheran School on Jan. 5. The meeting was called to order by Judy Lehde, president. She welcomed 17 members and two guests.
Doris Meyer presented an Epiphany devotion and the song "We Three Kings" was sung accompanied by Nadine Obermann, pianist.
The guest speaker was Katelyn Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Hansen, members of Trinity Lutheran Church. She thanked the Aid for the monetary gifts that she had received. She is attending the Deaconess Program at Concordia University in Chicago, Ill. Her major is theology and she is also taking psychology. Hansen gave a presentation on the roles that Deaconesses hold in the church and mission fields.
The program was presented by Connie Prater from the Winter Quarterly entitled "The Blessing of Stress" and Bible verses were read. She closed with the singing of "I am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus."
Dorothy Osterloh led the Mite Box Ingathering and she told of the mission of the Orphan Grain Train.
The business meeting was conducted, committee reports were given and correspondence was read.
Lena Bremer and Meyer thanked the ladies for serving the memorial lunches following the funeral for Velma Koenemann and Edith Gaddy.
The birthday song was sung for Dorothy Osterloh and a get-well card was signed for Esther Holle.
Lehde thanked the hostesses Judy Krueger and Gloria Krueger.
The meeting closed with the singing of "Go Fish!" This will be the theme song for the Missouri District Convention which will be held in June at St. Charles.
