Clean-up on the demolition work in the 600 block of Ninth Street in Monett was completed this week. Vaughn Construction won the bid to remove the house purchased south of the E.E. Camp Gymnasium, to expand parking for the R-1 School District.

Superintendent Dr. John Jungmann said the district advertised for three different ways to remove the house and only received bids for demolition.

Vaughn also removed the classroom building at Monett Elementary School used most recently for preschool classes across the sidewalk from the old office complex, over the Christmas break.

Removing the building was part of the consolidation of buildings at MES.
