Thursday, January 19, 2012

The Purdy Lady Eagles routed Miller 55-17 Monday night to open play in the Stockton Tournament.

"Defensively, we are doing well," said Purdy coach Grant Young. "We really have to add to our scoring and become more consistent outside. We need to attack and get rhythm before taking quick outside shots."

Purdy led 11-3 after one quarter of play and came alive in the second period, outscoring the Lady Cardinals 24 to 5 in the frame to lead 35-8 at halftime. The Lady Eagles carried their domination into the second half, outpacing Miller 11-5 in the third quarter.

Scoring for Purdy were: Addy Roller, 27 points; Billie House, 6; Jayse Henderson and Mattie White, 5 each; Katie Hughes and Rachael Neill, 4 apiece; and Taylor Moller and Kat Hughes, 2 each;

Purdy will continue its play in the Stockton Lady Tiger Basketball Tournament on Thursday. Game time is scheduled for 8:45 p.m.
