Ice-covered roads lead to crashes

A Monett woman sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck took place on Farm Road 1090 about one-10th of a mile north of County Road 2010 when the driver of a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, Karemae S. Marbut, 48, of Monett, lost control of the vehicle on an ice-covered road, ran off the roadway and overturned.

Marbut was taken to Cox Monett Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

Other crashes

* Three people were injured in a single-vehicle crash that took place at 4:15 a.m. this morning on Route J one-half a mile south of Golden. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2002 Pontiac, Rodger A. Harrs, 40, of Golden, traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned into a tree. Harris and two passengers in the vehicle, Lisa A. Frerichs, 29, and Matthew R. Harris, 4, were taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belt.
