On Oct. 16, 2011, Mariann Carrier's piano students dressed up as different characters and presented a piano recital.

Selah Whisman dressed as Bella and played "Skip to My Lou" and "Runaway River." Jerika Brown was dressed as a cook and played "Swans On the Lake" and "Stepping Stones." Jake Bouchard was a Smurf and played "The Bagpipers" and "The Man In the Moon." Kate Huntress dressed as a gypsy and performed "Oooga Booga Boogie" and "Air" from Mozart. Jack Burt dressed as Uncle Sam and played "Sea Chantey" and "Whistle-Stop Boogie."||Savannah Miller dressed as a cowgirl and played "Hinkey Dinkey Parley Voo" and "A Keyboard Recreation." Emma Hammond dressed as an 80s girl and played "Symphony No. 9 from the New World" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." Kelly Kaiser dressed as Dorothy and played "Over the Rainbow" and "Jocularity." Lane Witt dressed as a baseball player and played "Ballade" and "Sarabande." Bailie Stine dressed as Marilyn Monroe and performed "Moonlight Sonata" and "Piano Man." and Dalton Brown dressed as Frank Sinatra and played "Maybe" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb Medley."|
A Halloween party was held on Oct. 24, 2011, at the Carrier home. Students dressed for the event and a prize was given to Jerika Brown for the funniest dressed. Prizes for all-around best dressed were given to Selah Whisman and Aidan Branch.
A pizza and Monopoly party was held for the winners of the pizza contest. Those having the most excellent lessons were Lane Witt, Selah Whisman, Savannah Miller and Bailie Stine.
On Dec. 12, 2011, a Christmas party was held for all of the students. The group held a gift exchange, the Christmas story was read from the Bible, games were played and Bingo prizes were presented to Aiden Branch, Kate Huntress and Selah Whisman.
Meghan Gaines and Haley Gaines have joined the Carrier "gang."
The Junior High Music Festival will be held in Monett in March.
