James Edsal Nolan, age 77, of Monett, passed away at 3:31 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2012 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo. He was born on Dec. 15, 1934 in Monett, the son of the late James Alfred and Mary (Weaver) Nolan. He was united in marriage on July 24, 1953 in Monett to Barbara Bowman, she survives.

He was a retired Monett Fire Chief, member of the Monett Masonic Lodge and of Baptist faith.

James is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son: Robert Nolan, of Bella Vista, Ark.; one daughter: Latrisha Ann Lombard, of Monett; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, James and Mary, and one daughter: Vicki Lynn Drollinger.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Mo. Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett with Rev. Arnold Ray Evans officiating. Burial will follow services at Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett, Mo.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Assoc. or the American Diabetes Foundation.
