It was a busy holiday weekend for the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department with two meth labs taken down over the course of two days.
Last Friday, deputies discovered a meth lab in the area of Highway 97 and Lawrence 2030. This is the second meth lab to be found in that area over a two-week period.
Early Saturday morning, deputies were hard at work again, this time with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Deputies and officers with the Highway Patrol responded to a tip of possible drug activity in the area near Farm Road 1222. During their investigation, officers recovered a meth lab, methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis, drug paraphernalia and stolen property.
Five adults and one juvenile were found at the residence, and one individual was arrested on several outstanding warrants. Two other subjects were taken into custody on drug violations.
Investigation continues in both cases, and charges are pending.
