The International Gold, Silver and Diamond Buyers (IGSDB) has announced it will make a stop in Monett on Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Super 8 Motel, located at 201 S. Hess Dr. The event is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

IGSDB specialists will be on hand to review items on behalf of a global network of collectors, dealers and refineries.

"We hope to spend at least $200,000 while we are in town by purchasing people's old coin collections, vintage bank notes and scrap gold, silver and diamonds," said Ron Smith, IGSDB spokesman. "We buy a lot of class rings, mismatched earrings and broken necklaces. Just a small handful of gold can add up to hundreds of dollars very quickly.

"I encourage everyone to clean out their drawers, lock boxes and jewelry boxes and bring their items to our show for a free evaluation and perhaps walk out a little richer," Smith said.

IGSDB hosts hundreds of events annually, offering local residents the opportunity to trade precious metals, diamonds and paper currency for extra cash. Specialists review and evaluate items and make an offer on all gold and silver coins made before 1970 and paper currency printed before 1934. The amount of the offer depends on the gold or silver content, the collectability, the rarity and condition of the items. IGSDB will pay for the items with no hidden fees.

The parent company of IGSDB is THR and Associates, the largest and one of the most successful companies of its kind. THR and Associates is headquartered in Springfield, Ill.
