The Monett Lady Cubs fell 44-22 to Cassville in the third round of the Neosho Holiday Tournament Thursday.

The Lady Cubs entered the contest a day after playing arguably their best half of basketball all season against Neosho, hoping to establish some team continuity. Monett also welcomed back Hunter Glouse who suffered an ACL injury earlier in the year.

Cassville opened the game with an 8-0 run to stun Monett, but the Lady Cubs regrouped and trailed 10-5 at the end of the first quarter. Raigan Ratliff opened the second period with a 3-pointer to cut the lead to two but Cassville's trio of Emily Speakman, Kennadi Howard and Jaime Everett combined for 21 straight points in the second and third periods, fueled in part by eight consecutive Lady Cubs' turnovers.
