A Marionville woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred at 6:20 p.m. on Christmas Day.
The wreck took place on Highway T about five miles north of Marionville when the driver of a northbound 2011 GMC 1500 pickup, Mel D. Spillman, 63, of Miami, Okla., turned into the path of a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Daniel K. Hughes, 50, of Marionville, and the two vehicles collided.
A passenger in the vehicle, Debra S. Hughes, 52, of Marionville, was taken to Cox South Hospital with moderate injuries.
* A second crash on Christmas Day involved three vehicles and resulted in injuries to a Joplin woman. The crash occurred at 12:45 p.m. on Highway 39 about one-half mile north of Mt. Vernon. The driver of a 1997 Oldsmobile, Penny A. Barton, 54, of Columbus, Kan., was attempting to make a left turn and was hit from behind by a 2006 Kia Rio, driven by Gregory A. Piepenbrink, 23, of Mt. Vernon. The Piepenbrink vehicle was then hit from behind by a 1992 Ford F150, driven by Isaac W. Taylor, 17, of Miller. A passenger in the Oldsmobile, Judy R. Morris, 37, of Joplin, was taken to Freeman Hospital in Joplin with minor injuries.
