Area residents hurt in recent car crashes

A Cassville man was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:50 a.m. on Monday on Highway 37 about two miles north of Cassville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the driver of a 1987 Subaru GL wagon, Todd E. Scroggins, 36, of Cassville, failed to yield and drove into the path of a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Anthony R. Mattke, 22, of Cassville.

Scroggins was taken by private vehicle to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries. Mattke was wearing a seat belt, but officers were not able to determine if Scroggins was wearing one.

Other crashes

* A Crane man was injured in a single-vehicle crash that took place at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on Farm Road 2012 about two miles south of Aurora. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet HHR. Richard L. Wagner, 58, of Crane, drove off the left side of the road and struck a fence and a tree. He was taken to Cox Hospital South in Springfield with minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
