Mary Elizabeth McClure, age 78, of Frankfort, Mich., formerly of Fort Wayne, Ind., died on Wednesday, De. 7, 2011 at Munson Medical Center. She was born on July 5, 1933 in Monett, Mo.
Mrs. McClure was an elementary school teacher in Fort Wayne for 26 years, retiring in 1996. She was a graduate of Missouri Hospital School of Nursing and furthered her education by achieving a masters degree in education.
She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Beulah, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. McClure and her parents, Merle Logan Means and Mary Ella Spahr.
Survivors include her sisters: Sue Widmeyer, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Jennie Schelin, of Monett, and Nancy Phillips, of Kearney, Mo.; one brother: Robert M. Means, of Lowery, Mo. and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Dec. 12, 2011 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church and burial was in Lehman Cemetery in Payne, Ohio.
Preferred memorials can be made to St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Arrangements were by Jowett Family Funeral Homes in Benzonia and Frankfort, Mich.
