Unique fundraiser planned

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

A new type of fundraiser will be held this Friday, Dec. 16 at the Monett Park Casino, providing a perfect opportunity to complete last minute Christmas shopping.

Paddle for a Purpose will bring vendors and customers together for an auction and drawing with proceeds from the event benefitting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Monett. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

The 10 vendors who will be participating in the Paddle for a Purpose will donate three baskets each. Individuals attending the fundraiser will be able to bid on the 30 baskets, and there will be one mega basket, including items from each vendor, that will be awarded in a drawing.

Childcare will also be offered during the event. The children will complete a craft, play games and eat a snack while their parents are shopping and enjoying the auction. Donations for childcare will be accepted with all funds going to Relay. Those who plan to take advantage of the childcare service are asked to call Michelle Crim, one of the event organizers, at 417-669-7734.

Vendors that will be participating in Paddle with a Purpose include: Michelle Crim, Adrenaline Apparel; Tiffany Talent, Mary Kay; Shelby Fenske, Miche Bags; Jennifer Vaughn, Sew-it-All; Jennifer Ellingsworth, Scentsy; Jeni Haddock, Pampered Chef; Paula Hirsch, Celebrating Home; Erin Hunt, Thirty One; Heather Logan, Arbonne; Toni Sumners, Avon; and Sue Wilkins, Tupperware.
