Carl W. Geyer, Sr., age 54, of Pierce City, Mo., died on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. Mr. Geyer was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, June 7, 1957. He was the son of Murel and Charelene (Flueckinger) Geyer.
Mr. Geyer was married to Kathy McKinney on Monday, July 7, 1975, in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Geyer was a teacher at Purdy High School in Purdy, Mo.
Surviving are the following: his wife, Kathy Geyer, of the home; his mother and father, Murel and Charelene Geyer, of Raymore, Mo.; one son: Carl Geyer, Jr. and his wife, Ila, of Pierce City, Mo.; one daughter: Christina Phillips and her husband, Aaron, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; one sister: Teresa Lally and her husband, Richard, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two grandchildren: Kelsi Geyer and Aubrey Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Purdy High School gymnasium in Purdy, Mo., at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, with friends and family leading the service. Burial will follow at a later date. Mr Geyer was cremated at his request under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, Mo.
