Wrecks land several people in the hospital

Several people were hurt in recent area crashes.

A Cassville man was injured in a single-vehicle wreck that took place on Sunday on Farm Road 2130 about one mile east of Butterfield.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:20 a.m. when the driver of a 2003 Hyundai, Jason J. Swift, 29, of Cassville, went off the roadway and overturned.

Swift was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Other crashes

* An Exeter man was injured in a single-vehicle wreck when the Jeep he was driving left the roadway, struck a road sign and overturned before striking a tree. The crash occurred at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday on Highway 76 about one mile south of Cassville. The driver, Aaron M. Wilson, 22, of Cassville, was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville, with minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

*Two Sheldon teens were injured in a single-vehicle wreck that took place at 4:50 p.m. on Sunday on Highway 76 about three miles west of Exeter. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, Shawn Robinson 31, of Hartford, Ark., ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. Two passengers in the vehicle, Austin Robinson, 13, and Dalton Robinson, 14, both of Sheldon, were taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries. All of the vehicle's occupants were wearing seat belts.

* A Crane man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Monday. The wreck occurred at 7:10 p.m. on Highway 248 at Wheelerville, when the driver of a 1988 Toyota, Randy G. Tichenor, 56, of Crane, ran off the roadway and overturned. Tichenor was taken to St. John's Hospital-Aurora with moderate injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.

* Kerry K. Pietsch, 19, of Wheaton, was injured in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 1:32 a.m. at the junction of Holly and Barry Roads about four miles south of Wentworth. The 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer Pietsch was driving ran off the side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. He was taken by private vehicle to Cox Monett Hospital with moderate injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

* Adella Grippando, 21, of Cassville, was injured when the 2002 GMC Sierra, driven by Michael L. Dotson, 28, of Cassville, went off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The crash occurred at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday on Highway 76 about two miles south of Cassville. Dotson was wearing a seat belt but Grippando was not. Grippando was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville with minor injuries.
