The Cubs held a two-point 13-11 advantage after one quarter of play and clamped down defensively in the second period, outscoring Stockton 22-7 to take a 35-18 lead into intermission.
Kyle Woods scored 22 points to lead the Cubs. Jacob Fair added 12 points. Tyler Green finished with 10 points. Travis Thompson and Tyler Webb chipped in 9 points apiece. Dillon Freudenthal tallied 3 points, and Jarred Witt recorded 2 points.
Monett travels to McDonald County on Friday. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
The Monett Lady Cubs fell 48-38 to the Joplin Lady Eagles on Monday night.
"We had our opportunities," said Monett coach Derrek Uhl. "We made runs at in the second and fourth quarters but couldn't get over the hump."
Joplin jumped out to a 13-4 advantage after the first quarter and led 23-13 at halftime. The Lady Eagles extended the lead to 37-26 after three quarters of play.
The Lady Cubs cut the lead to 36-43 with 2:25 left in the fourth quarter but couldn't get any closer.
"We are a very young team," said Uhl. "We are still trying to gel as a unit. The only thing that will help us is putting more games under our belt."
Breanna Varner led the Lady Cubs in scoring with 12 points.
Also scoring for Monett were: Abby Krueger and Brooke Madison, 7 points each; Raigan Ratliff, 6 points; Jessica Schmidt, 5 points; and Kelsey Wiseman, 1 point.
The Lady Cubs travel to Cassville on Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
