Nathan Thomas has recently been named the new pastor at First Christian Church, of Purdy. Thomas is originally from Vinemont, Ala., and began in the ministry at the age of 17. His last ministry was in Linden, Tenn., where he was a senior minister and a chaplain of Unity Hospice Care. Thomas is a graduate of Mid-South Christian College, of Senatobia, Miss., where he received a bachelor of science degree in preaching ministry. While attending college, he married Linda Talbott who was the college secretary. She has served as Thomas's secretary and also has a passion for music and drama. The couple have two children, Nathaniel, who is a youth minister in Adamsville, Tenn., and Josh, who is a student at the University of Tennessee in Martin. Thomas has ministered in Alabama, Nebraska, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee. Service times are Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday night Bible study is held at 6 p.m.
