Primetime, the Monett Area YMCA's afterschool childcare program, held a shoe drive during the month of November. The shoe drive was developed to help shoe the community, and shoes were donated by the children and their parents. "Our efforts for the drive were to educate the children about community support through giving," said Layla Minton, Primetime program director. Minton is pictured above with her Primetime children and staff, Derek Shields, Kaitlyn Shumacher and Joshua Shaner. The group gathered at Crosslines in Monett to drop off their donations. Throughout the month of December, the Primetime program will be sponsoring a winter clothing drive. All winter apparel in good condition, such as coats, hats and gloves, will be donated to Crosslines. For more information, call Minton at 417-489-4471. [Times Photo by Lisa Craft] [Order this photo]
