Attends National young Leaders Conference

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Lea Periman, a seventh grade student at Monett Middle School, attended the junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., in July. During the visit she visited many national monuments, including the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans War Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Capitol Hill, National Museum of American Indians and Harper's Ferry. She shared her information about the sites with the other students that attended from across the United States. In addition, the students discussed leadership skills and characteristics. She has been elected to attend the 2012 conference to be held in Boston, Mass. Nominations and elections are based on academic and observed leadership skills. Lea is the daughter of Eddie and Melissa Periman. She is the granddaughter of Sherry Periman and the late Olen Periman and the granddaughter of Connie Able and the late Roger Able.
