The surprise party was hosted by her children and held at Grant's Restaurant in Monett. The room was cheerfully decorated in Janice's favorite color of red and the decorating was done by her great-grandchildren, Amari and Brogan Tudor.
The cake was also decorated in red with the inscription of Happy 82nd on top and 11/11/11 on the side of the cake.
Pictures of Janice were displayed on a poster board that had been taken that day at 11:11 a.m. in front of the Stonebridge sign in Monett. Becky Green and Susan Smith set the clock on the correct time long enough to take the picture.
Janice wore red from head to toe, which she does for special occasions. She received many birthday cards as well as a special time of opening gifts.
Janice has been a resident of Monett for over 50 years and she and her husband, Leroy, raised five children.
She was a well-known "grandma babysitter" to many children. She babysat for over 40 years.
Janice continues to enjoy the outdoors, working with many beautiful flowers and plants and spending time with her friends. She especially enjoys going to lunch on Sunday afternoon with friends after church and spending time with her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those attending were: Dennis and Sue Beshears, Donna and Dave Beckett, Diane and Lon Dupre, Derek Tudor, Darrin Tudor, Durrel Ennes, Joni Weatherly, Betty and Tom Pinkley, Barbara and Jim Sperry, Cameron George and Phyllis Whitley, all of Monett; Dale and LeeAnn Beshears, of LaRussell; Dustin, Chelsea, Amari and Brogan, of Mt.
